# Setting color scales

Analytics+ provides the ability to create a heatmap - either based on the same column or driven by a different column. Based on your data, you have the flexibility to set the number of bands or reverse the scale.

You can also set custom numeric ranges and color schemes.

### 1. Custom color scales for charts

We've applied a custom range to color-code the bar chart.

### 2. Custom color scales for cards

Notice how we've adjusted the ranges according to the data and applied custom colors. The default range is 0-10, 10-30, and 30-100.

### 3. Custom color scales for tables

We've used custom ranges based on the PY values in this table.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.inforiver.com/analytics+/working-with-analytics+/9.-conditional-formatting/setting-color-scales.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
