# Bubble charts

In this section, we'll look at bubble charts. Note that you can either create a new rule as shown here or edit the bubble charts inserted using the one-click option explained [here](https://docs.inforiver.com/working-with-inforiver/5.-conditional-formatting/one-click-options).

Refer to the [Create Rule](https://docs.inforiver.com/working-with-inforiver/5.-conditional-formatting/create-rule-reporting-matrix) section to get started. Once the rule is created and you can see the Conditional Formatting side panel, follow the steps below.

Select **Bubble Chart** in the **Color scale for** dropdown. **Format by** should be set to Color Scale.

We've already covered some of the options in the [Color scales](https://docs.inforiver.com/working-with-inforiver/5.-conditional-formatting/create-rule-reporting-matrix/color-scales) section. Let's look at the customization options specific to bubble charts.

#### **1. Hide value**

Check the **Hide value** checkbox to see only the bubble charts - the values are hidden.

#### **2. Bubble overlay**

Enable this option to allow the bubble chart to overlap the cell value. Disable this checkbox if you do not want the chart to ovelap the value.

#### **3. Bubble color**

Set a custom color for the bubble chart.

#### **4. Apply color to text**

Set the font color of cell values to match the bubble color. Note that we've disabled the Bubble overlay checkbox as the values will not be visible when the chart overlaps them.

#### **5. Measure based color**

The gradient and color intensity of the bubbles are determined based on the minimum and maximum values of the measure selected from the dropdown.
