The Date Preset enables users to configure and apply predefined date presets to filter data efficiently. This functionality simplifies date-based filtering by offering default options and customization.
How to Enable Date Presets
In the Visualizations pane, add a Date field to the Category field well. Ensure the field is set to Date (not Date Hierarchy).
Navigate to the Format Pane and Locate the Preset Bar.
Enable the toggle to activate the preset functionality in the visual.
Select the default presets to be shown in the visual from the preset option in general section.
Presets: A dropdown list allows you to choose from the following preset options:
Today/Yesterday/Min/Max
This Week/Month/Quarter/Year
Last Week/Month/Quarter/Year
Max Week/Month/Quarter/Year
MTD/QTD/YTD/MTY
When enabled, the Preset Bar displays the default presets (Today, Yesterday, Min Day, Max Day) alongside Three Dots icon to add new presets.

Dynamic date presets are exclusively available in the Date Slider and Month range calendar.
Preset Types and its Configuration
Relative Date Presets let you apply dynamic, rolling filters that update automatically based on the current date. For example: This Month, Last 7 Days, Next Quarter, etc. This is ideal for keeping dashboards up to date without manual changes.
Configuration Steps:
Click the three dots on the preset bar → select Add Preset to go to the preset list.
Click Add Preset (top right) to enter the preset configuration screen.
Set Type to Date and enter a name for the preset.
Choose a preset style (icon and label combination).
In the Date Condition dropdown, select
This,Last, orNext.Choose the period type relative to today (e.g., Day, Month, Quarter).
Set the number of periods (e.g., Last 2 Calendar Months).
After configuring presets click "OK" to save the presets to the Preset Bar.
Click the Cancel button to discard any edits or newly added presets without saving them.

Calendar Month and Calendar Week options are only available when using the Last or Next conditions.
Time Intelligence Presets offer built-in logic for common reporting needs like Year-to-Date (YTD), Month-to-Date (MTD), Quarter-to-Date (QTD), and more. These presets replicate complex DAX logic without requiring any code and automatically calculate from the appropriate start point to the current date.
Configuration Steps:
Click the three dots on the preset bar → choose Add Preset.
Click Add Preset (top right) to open the configuration screen.
Set Type as Date and enter a preset name.
Choose a preset style.
From the Date Condition dropdown, choose a time intelligence preset.
After configuring presets click "OK" to save the presets to the Preset Bar.
Click the Cancel button to discard any edits or newly added presets without saving them.

List of Available Presets
YTD
From the start of the current year up to today.
YTDDB
Year-to-Date, excluding today. Useful for daily refresh dashboards where today’s data may not be complete.
YTDM
Year-to-Date up to the last day of the current month.
MTD
From the start of the current month up to today. Example: June 1–15, 2025.
MTDDB
Month-to-Date, excluding today. Useful for daily refresh dashboards where today’s data may not be complete.
WTD
Week-to-Date, from the start of the current week. Example: Sunday to today.
QTD
Quarter-to-Date, from the start of the current quarter to today.
HYTD
Half-Year-to-Date, from the start of the current half-year to today.
MTY
From the start of the year to the end of the current month (inclusive of future dates in the month).
Common Presets include frequently used fixed options like Today, Yesterday, Min, and Max. The Min and Max presets can be configured to return the earliest/latest values within a defined time window.
Configuration Steps:
Click the three dots on the preset bar → go to Add Preset.
Click Add Preset to open the configuration.
Set Type to Date and enter a name.
Choose a preset style.
Choose one of the following Date Conditions:
Today & Yesterday → No Further configuration is required. It filters today and yesterday relative to current date.
Min or Max → Configure Period Type dropdown with any of the options listed as per the requirement. Days, Weeks, Months, Quarters, Years, Calendar Year/Month/Week, Fiscal Year/Quarter.
After configuring presets click "OK" to save the presets to the Preset Bar.
Click the Cancel button to discard any edits or newly added presets without saving them.
