c.Initial Start Date & Start day of Week

Initial Start Date

The Initial Start Date feature allows users to set a default starting date for the calendar view in Super Filter, providing flexibility in how the calendar is presented based on data.

Follow these steps to configure this feature:

1

Navigate to the Format Pane section: Date Filter -> General -> Initial Start Date.

2

In the Initial Start Date dropdown, select from the following options:

  • Today: When selected, the visual will highlight the current date in the Calendar by default.

  • Min Date: When selected, the visual will display the earliest date available in the data model by default.

  • Max Date: When selected, the visual will show the latest available date in the data model by default.

  • Custom Date: When selected, a text box will appear, allowing users to enter a specific custom date. This date will then be shown as the default initial date in the calendar vie

3

Once configured, each time the calendar view is opened, it will start from the configured Initial Start Date.

Example:

The Initial Start Date determines which date is displayed when opening a calendar view filter.

  • If a retail manager sets the Initial Start Date to Today, the calendar will always open to the current date (e.g., September 9 will display the September month view).

  • Similarly, choosing Min Date opens the calendar at the earliest available date, while Max Date opens it at the most recent date.

Start Day of Week

The Last Day of the Week option allows users to customize which day is considered the last day of the week in the calendar view.

Follow these steps to configure this feature:

1

Navigate to the Format Pane section:

  • Date Filter -> General -> Start Day of the Week.

2

A dropdown list will appear, allowing users to select the desired day of the week (e.g., Sunday, Saturday, Friday, etc.).

3

The selected day will be displayed as the start day of the week in the calendar, affecting the calendar view throughout the visual.

4

When Start Day of the Week is configured and default selection like This Week or Last Week is used, the week range will now begin from the selected start day (e.g., Tuesday) instead of the default Sunday or Monday.

This customization helps users tailor the calendar display to match their regional or organizational preferences for the start and end of the week and use custom start day of the week for default selection based on weeks.
