Classification
Inforiver provides data classification based on text, icons, and ratings.
Refer to the Create Rule section to get started. Once the rule is created and you can see the Conditional Formatting side panel, follow the steps below.
Choose 'Classification' in the Format by dropdown.

Click on the Display dropdown. There are 3 types of classification types supported in Inforiver Reporting Matrix.

1. Text
Many times, it may become essential to categorize performance. A common technique used by enterprises to categorize inventory, vendors, or materials is ABC analysis. Inforiver delivers this capability right out of the box.
Select 'ABC' from the Display dropdown.

1.1. Apply to charts
When there are charts in the column where classification is to be applied, check the Apply to charts checkbox. In the sample report, sales are visualized using bar charts, and the colors defined for the ABC ranges are used for formatting.

1.2. Show as new column
You can also have the classifications appear in a separate column if required. Check the Show as new column checkbox.

1.3. Text position
Display classification text to the right or left of your data. You can also choose to display only the classification text by selecting 'Only Text' from the Text position dropdown.

1.4. Color for
Choose to apply formatting colors to the font, background, or both. When you choose 'Both', you can set the color scheme for the font as well as the background.
This option will be available only when you select 'Only text' in the Text position dropdown.

1.5. Percentage text
Display the percentage contribution to the left or right of the text using the Percentage text dropdown.

1.6. Classification ranges
You can create custom color schemes based on percentages or actual values. Click the icon to reverse the color order. Click
to restore default values. Click the Add range option to add additional ranges. Use the
icon to remove a particular range.

2. Icon set
Icon-based formatting provides the same properties as text-based formatting, which we discussed in the previous section. We'll look at a simple example for icon sets.
Choose any of the built-in icon sets from the Display dropdown. The icons indicate whether the sales are high, average, or below average, and allow users to quickly identify action areas.

3. Rating
You can also use star-based ratings, as seen on e-commerce sites, in the product feedback section. Choose any of the built-in rating sets from the Display dropdown.

Many of the customization options are what we discussed in the Text section. Let's look at the customizations specific to ratings.
3.1. Invert rating
Select the Invert rating checkbox in cases where higher values need to show lower ratings. Notice how the 'Montana' product with the least sales has a higher rating than the 'Paseo' product, which has the highest sales in the region.

3.2. Rating color
Select a custom color for the rating icons.

3.3. Number of ranges
You can customize the number of icons that appear in your scale – Number of ranges has been set to 3 in this case.

3.4. Rating text
The rating text, e.g., 2 or 4.5. Stars can be shown on the left or right. Select the position and text color.

3.4. Enable custom
Configure value ranges for each of the ratings. Select the Enable Custom checkbox. For every half rating, you'll be able to define percentage/value ranges in the From and To fields. Classification ranges have been covered in the previous Text classification section.
