EDITable - v1.7.5

New

1. Introducing user roles and permissions

User management in EDITable is now even more secure and streamlined with our new, role-based access control policies. In this release, we have introduced additional user roles with clearly defined access permissions.

Default user roles

Admins can assign roles to users (or Active Directory groups) to specify what they can or cannot do in EDITable.

Here is a summary of default roles and their associated permissions:

Roles
Associated Permissions

Admin

Complete control within the product with no restrictions.

EDITable Admin

Access to all EDITable settings and writeback.

EDITable Input Users

Access to add comments and execute writeback.

EDITable Approvals Users

Access to review requests and take actions, execute writeback, add comments, and access audits.

EDITable Database Admin

Access the writeback configurations in the admin connection portal and create/alter tables.

In addition to the default roles, workspace admins can create custom roles and policies on a granular level, ensuring enhanced data governance and security.

2. EDITable integration with Infobridge

Explore our best-in-class product suite designed for planning, reporting, writeback, and master data management solutions within Power BI.

InfoBridge, one of our key offerings and an add-on to Inforiver, can now fetch data from EDITable, opening up new possibilities for integrated and connected planning.

How does it work?

EDITable supports a variety of cloud-based and on-premises databases, including Fabric Warehouse, Fabric SQL, Azure SQL, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks, and PostgreSQL. You can now import data tables from these sources into InfoBridge using EDITable.

Once the data is imported, it can be accessed live from an Inforiver report. In the example below, we have demonstrated it using the ‘LOOKUP’ function. This integration lets you seamlessly connect to multiple data sources, enabling real-time connected planning and reporting.
