Board controls
Board controls have been designed to make your designing experience streamlined and efficient. Let's look at the options available in Analytics+.
1. Show grid lines
Gridlines help in maintaining consistent spacing between dashboard components. Gridlines allow for better distribution of content by dividing the dashboard canvas into evenly sized and spaced sections.
2. Show smart guides
Smart guides help align and position dashboard elements. Notice the lines that appear when trying to re-position an element? These smart lines allow us to place elements in the same row or column as other elements in the dashboard.
3. Lock elements
You cannot resize or reposition existing elements when you lock them. You can still insert and customize new elements.
4. Download as Template
You can download the dashboard design and use the same elements as a template for other dashboards. The template is downloaded as a JSON file.
5. Advanced Settings
Click the Advanced Settings option to open the Board Controls side pane.
5.2. Canvas settings
You can set the device-specific proportions for your dashboards. For example, if your dashboard will be primarily viewed on a tablet, you can choose the width and height suited for a tablet.
5.3. Layout
You can select a particular layout and insert elements by clicking on the associated icon.
