Card toolbar

The card ribbon is divided into 9 sections based on the functionality provided. Let’s explore each of them.

1. Chart

  • Sparkline: Switch between sparkline or comparison charts. Area, Line, Column, Waterfall, Combo, Pie, Bullet charts, etc can be used in cards.

  • Rotate: Change the orientation of the chart (horizontal to vertical or vice versa) by clicking on the button.

  • Elements: Show or hide the axes/data labels or the chart itself. You can also enable sync highlight between panels from the elements menu. When you hover over an element, a gear icon is enabled. Click on the gear icon to open the customization settings for that element.

  • Position: Change the position of the chart with respect to the KPIs by selecting the position.

2. Format

Change the font style, size, and color of the KPI metrics. You can apply a background color for the KPI and choose to display the metrics as bold, italicized, or underlined.

3. Layout

  • Trellis

Inforiver offers several built-in layouts for cards: Grid, Compact Grid, Single row, and Single column.

4. Style

  • Border: You can customize the border width, color, and corner radius for each card.

  • Shadow: You can customize the shadow styling for the cards.

5. Summary

Insight charts can be used to create multi-row cards where a summary of the sparkline chart can be displayed as a bullet chart. You can set the position, configure number formatting, change the type of the bullet chart, assign measure comparisons, and customize the colors.

6. Measures

  • Insert Formula: Write custom KPI formulas for cards. In this example, we have used the tooltip measures to create a formula.

  • Series: Click on this button to open the measure series configuration window. You can set the chart type for each measure and control which y-axis the measure is plotted on. Learn more about series configurations.

  • Split: When your cards have multiple non-comparative measures, you can display each measure in a separate card by clicking on the split button. Learn more about splitting and grouping measures. In the gif below, the sales, profit, and discount measures have been split into individual panels for each measure.

7. Data

  • Conditional formatting: Inforiver can automatically apply formatting based on specific conditions. You can use the single-click options or create distinct formatting rules. Learn more about conditional formatting.

  • Sorting: Sort your data based on measures or variances with options like ascending, descending, or Power BI native sort. You can also sort the trellis panels and apply nested sorting. Learn more about sorting options.

  • Ranking: Rank your data by applying TopN rules. When hierarchical datasets are involved, you can apply nested ranking. Learn more about ranking.

  • Filter: After assigning visual measures and dimensions, instead of using Power BI filters, you can apply filters on your data from within the Analytics+ visual. Click the filter icon at the top-right corner to view applied filters.

  • Formula: You can create visual-level measures within the Analytics+ visual, without having to modify your data source. Click on the formula button to open the Calculated Measure side pane.

  • Type the '#' key to open the suggestions window and select measures.

  • Calculated measures can also be created from the Pivot data window.

8. Design

  • Presets: Analytics+ provides a range of built-in KPI presets that can be applied instantly. You can choose the presets that have integrated variances or simple presets based on your data.

9. Actions
