5.8. Inserting formulas & text

With Analytics+, you can add context and background details to your KPI metrics by inserting text and calculated values. Let's see how!

STEP 1: You can insert a text element by choosing the Text option from the Type dropdown menu or clicking theicon in the container.

STEP 2: Double-click and key in the text. Use the rich text editor to format and style your data.

STEP 3: You can insert references and calculated metrics as well. Click theicon to open the formula editor.

STEP 4: Select the Add title option to insert references i.e. the measure name, measure and variance values or panel names. You can also insert the measure/variance/average/total for a particular axis category as shown.

Use the # symbol to open the reference dropdown menu.

STEP 5: Perform calculations with the Add formula option. In the formula bar, you can refer to measure/variance values.

  • Click theicon to open the number formatting menu. You can set the scaling, precision, prefix/suffix etc.

  • Click theicon if the result of your calculation should be converted into a percentage.

STEP 6: Hover over a text container (without selecting it) and click theicon to open the Edit KPI side pane. You will have additional formatting options like bullets and numbering, horizontal/vertical alignment, background color and highlighting. You can also insert links by selecting the text and clicking theicon.
