1. Getting started

Analytics+ provides a range of prebuilt dashboard templates that can help you create dashboards in a single click. You can build a custom layout from scratch or let Analytics+ do all the heavy lifting and auto-create your dashboard!

1.1. Auto-create report

Choose the Auto-create report option to allow Analytics+ to build your reports in seconds without requiring manual intervention. You can then customize your charts, cards, and tables as required.

1.2. Selecting a template

Click on the Choose Templates option to view the layouts provided in Analytics+. If your organization follows a standard dashboard template, you can import the JSON config and use it as a base template .

Analytics+ offers plug-and-play templates for a wide range of use cases including IBCS, financial, and KPI. You can select a template that is best suited to your specific requirements.

1.3. Building a layout from scratch

Select the Custom layout option to define the number of KPI cards, charts, and tables to include in your dashboard.

The preview pane reflects the elements corresponding to the counts that are set. You can use the Viz-data-ink ratio slider to quickly assign the number of elements in your dashboard.

You can assign dimensions and measures to each element from the Pivot data pane. These data configurations can be re-assigned at any time during the development of the dashboard. Notice how the Row and Column buckets are enabled only when the Trellis option is turned on in the configuration pane.

You can place the navigation control at the top, top-left, or left-hand side of your dashboard.

To create IBCS-compliant dashboards, you need to enable the IBCS Standard toggle. You can use the Reset button to revert to the original configuration.

2. Adding elements to the dashboard

3. Assigning data

You can easily change the default measures and dimensions assigned to a chart/card/table: click to select an element and open the Pivot data window.

4. Customizing elements

When you click and select an element, the associated toolbar is enabled. For instance, the card toolbar will be enabled if you click a card element. You can change the sparkline chart, and apply KPI presets, themes, ranking, conditional formatting, and other customizations applicable to cards. Each type of dashboard element can be fully customized with dedicated toolbars.

All the on-object interaction menus are available in storyboard mode as well.

5. Changing the element type

6. Resizing elements

When you click on an element, the panel or container in which the element is placed will be highlighted. You can then drag the container to resize it.

7. Re-arranging elements

You can move elements around in the storyboard and position them as needed. All you need to do is click and drag the element to the desired position.

8. Applying themes

You can select from the range of prebuilt themes and choose the color scheme for the dashboard. Navigate to Properties > Board >Themes tab to explore themes for your dashboard.

You can also set the theme for individual elements from the respective toolbar. Select the element, and navigate to Advanced Settings> Canvas > Theme. We’ve used the Midnight theme for the dashboard and the Color Blind Dark theme for the table.

Assign a theme name and click on any color to open the color picker to set an alternate color. Once created, custom themes can be applied to the dashboard or individual elements.

Create interactive dashboards with navigation options like tabbed dashboards, boards or play axes. .

Enable the comments pane to highlight annotations in your dashboard.

In addition to charts, cards, and tables, Analytics+ supports images, shapes, text boxes, slicers, annotations, and navigation controls to help you design stunning interactive dashboards. Click the symbol to insert an element.

You effortlessly change an element to a different element type, for example, change a card element to a chart or table. Select the element then click the icon and expand the Switch to option in the context menu.

You can also customize themes and create a theme using an existing theme as the base. Click on the icon to create a custom color scheme using the selected theme as the base. Click on the icon to view the color scheme of the selected theme.
