Configuring rules for charts

Inforiver provides the options outlined below to configure conditional formatting rules.
i) Title: Custom name to uniquely identify the rule.
ii) Apply to: The column on which conditional formatting is to be applied.
iii) Exclude: Uncheck the 'Total' checkbox if you do not want to apply conditional formatting on the totals.
iv) Format by: To drive conditional formatting based on rules or color scales, select the respective option.
v) Color impacts on: You can choose the element (like Chart or Data label) to which the formatting will be applied.
vi) Condition: Define conditions to drive the conditional formatting.
vii) Add condition: Use this link to add additional And/or conditions.
In this example, we have highlighted the data labels in red where the 2023 Actuals < 2022 Actuals.
When you choose Color impacts on > Chart, you can set a color and fill style (solid, outline, hatched).
You can highlight the data in the data table by changing the font color when the rule is satisfied. Choose 'Data Table' from the Impacts on dropdown. In this example, the profit values are highlighted when the relative variance between sales and profit is more than 5.
