Inforiver Writeback Matrix July 2025 - v4.5.6

The latest version of Inforiver Writeback Matrix features more robust interactivity capabilities, including cross-filtering and cross-highlighting based on cell selections. We've also added improvements across scenarios and PDF exports.

1. Enhancements

1.1. Cell-selection based cross-highlight and cross-filter

The latest Writeback Matrix release brings enhanced interactivity — you can now cross-highlight and cross-filter other visuals directly from individual cell selections within your Writeback Matrix visual.

1.2. Enhancements to commentary and collaboration

PDF exports are now cleaner — we've removed the redundant 'Comment' indicator for a more concise export.

1.3. Upgrades to data input row handling in scenarios

Inforiver Matrix allows you to create custom row categories and use them as default values for other data input rows.

Simulations performed on the original row (such as 'First Data') will automatically update any linked or referring rows (like 'First Data Revised') within the same scenario.

1.4. More precise scenario simulation results

Scenarios with numeric data input measures can now capture updates to default values with greater accuracy. To demonstrate this, we've created a data input measure and used the native Quantity measure as the default value. We've also updated the Grand Total from 37.87k to 40k.

When a scenario is created based on this data, the update from 37.87k to 40k will be captured as a simulation percentage; however, the original value of 37.87k will be displayed in the scenario.

1.5. Unpin the formula bar

You can now unpin the formula bar when it is not being used. Double-click on a cell to enable the formula bar. Click the pin icon to display the formula bar permanently.

2. Bug fixes

  • An issue causing inconsistencies in the user list within the admin console when Active Directory groups contained more than 100 users has now been resolved.

  • Previously, data entered in a text input column renamed to 'Notes' or 'Comments' was not captured during writeback. The text values were converted to NULL while writing back. This issue has been resolved, and the entered text values are now successfully written back.

  • Native and data input measure values were converted to NULL while writing back when the row dimension category was blank. This has been rectified, and the values in the report are written back accurately.

  • Previously, changes to calculations in calculated rows were not reflected in data input rows that referred to them as default values. This issue has now been resolved.

  • We’ve resolved an issue where the COLUMN_COUNT function produced inconsistent results when used within a scenario.
