General settings
The general display settings are used to customize the appearance of the report.
In the Inforiver toolbar, navigate to the Home ribbon. The Display option is available in the 'Actions' section. Clicking on this option will open up the Display side panel.
1. Toolbar
The toolbar option allows you to change the color of the toolbar to 'Light' or 'Dark'. In the example, the color of the toolbar is set to Dark and the changes are reflected in the toolbar at the top and the side panel.
2. Canvas
The canvas section contains options to set the overall appearance of the report.

i) Theme
The theme option lets you change the theme of the Inforiver visual to 'Light' or 'Dark'. In the example, the Dark theme is chosen.
ii) Background
You can change the background color of the canvas using this option.
iii) Text
You can change the color of the text/values in the visual using this option.
iv) Header text
You can change the color of the header text in the visual using this option.
3. Outline
This option allows you to set the outline for the visual. If you enable this option, a color picker is enabled. The color picker allows you to select the color of the outline. We have set a blue outline for the grid below.
4. Row highlight
This option allows you to highlight the rows in the report. The various row highlight options are:
Row Hover
Row Alternate
Row Alternate Contrast
Row Alternate Flashy
Off
i) Row hover
Highlights the row upon hovering over them. If you enable this option, the following options are displayed:
Row text color - This option allows you to set the text color of the row on hover
Row background color - This option allows you to set the background color of the row on hover
In the image below, the row text color is set to blue, and the row background color to grey on hover.
ii) Row alternate - Highlights alternate rows. All of the row highlight options are customized with predefined colors. By default, all the tables are configured with the 'Row alternate' highlight option. If you enable this option, the following options are displayed:
Odd row - This option allows you to set the color of the odd rows
Even row - This option allows you to set the color of the even rows
The row alternate highlight is shown in the below image.
iii) Row alternate contrast - Highlights the odd and even rows with contrasting color shades by default. If you enable this option, the Odd row and Even row options are displayed.
iv) Row alternate flashy - Highlights the odd and even rows with flashy color shades. If you enable this option, the Odd row and Even row options are displayed.
You can remove the row highlight by selecting the 'off' option from the drop-down.
Enable the Measure Only Highlight option to remove the highlight from the categories and highlight just the measures.
5. Gridlines
i) Major gridlines
Use this option to set major gridlines for the parent rows in the visual. You can select from the following values:
Single - This option will insert a single gridline to the parent rows
Double - This option will insert a double gridline to the parent rows
Off - This option will turn off the major gridlines
If the 'Single' or 'Double' option is selected for the major gridlines, then a color picker is enabled. Using the color picker, you can customize the color of the single/double major gridlines.
In the below example, 'Double' major gridlines are inserted and their colors are set to blue.
If 'Off' is selected, the major gridlines will not be displayed. This option is set to 'Off' by default.
ii) Minor gridlines
You can add Horizontal, Header, and Vertical properties for minor gridlines.
Horizontal
This option lets you set the horizontal gridlines for child rows. You can select from the following options:
Solid lines
Dashed lines
Off
If the 'Solid Lines' or 'Dashed Lines' option is selected for the horizontal gridlines, then a color picker is enabled. Using the color picker, you can customize the color of the single/double horizontal gridlines. You can also set the number of rows to skip between 2 consecutive lines.
In the example, 'Solid' horizontal gridlines are inserted and their colors are set to red. 1 row is skipped between lines.
Skip lines
This option allows you to set the minor grid line gap between the rows.
The minimum and maximum skip line values are 1 and 10 respectively.
Header
This option lets you insert gridlines for the column headers. If this option is enabled, then a color picker option becomes available next to it. Using the color picker option you can customize the color of the header gridline.
The color of the header gridline is the same as that of the horizontal gridlines by default.
If you change the color of the header gridline, the color of the horizontal gridlines also gets changed accordingly.
Vertical
This option lets you insert vertical lines between columns. You can select from the following options:
Solid - This option will insert solid vertical lines to the right of each column.
Off - This option will turn off the vertical lines
If the 'Solid lines' option is selected for the vertical lines, a color picker option is enabled. Using the color picker you can customize the color of the solid vertical lines.
In the example, Solid vertical gridlines are inserted and their colors are set to red.
6. Table padding
This option allows you to insert spacing/padding for the table from the top, bottom, left, and right. Any padding applied will reflect in PDF exports.
The minimum and maximum padding values are 0 and 100 respectively.
7. Custom date format
You can set a specific date format for hierarchical date dimensions in rows or columns. Enable the Custom Date Format option to select the format from the Date category dropdown. This option can be used for flat date hierarchies and Power BI date hierarchies.
You can specify individual formats for year, quarter, month, and day. Expand the Valid formats information box to browse through the list of date formats supported in Inforiver.
8. Enable canvas rendering
When you have a large number of row and column categories in your report, you can switch to a high-performance canvas - making your scrolling and interactions faster and smoother.
